Is this video card worth the money?

I am looking to upgrade the video card in my computer however I do not have a lot of money. I was thinking of picking up a EVGA GTS450 video card from my local Fry's Electronics for $100 however I am not sure if this card is worth it.|||Yes that is a good card at a good price, & better than the suggested 9800GT.|||Check the specs at nvidia .com or evga .com guarantee it's worth the price|||Its a good one but GeForce 9800 GT is also a good option, I think.

NVIDIA® GeForce GTS450 for gaming?

How is this card for gaming use? On what kind of settings could it play games such as Dragon Age 2, Portal 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, etc?

Here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-gef…

And here: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDI…

Thanks!|||first the choice of graphic card depends on the processor you use if intel you go on with NVIDIA and if AMD you need to use ATI RADEON because it AMD-ATI RADEON combination gives more superior performance than AMD-NVIDIA combination

NVIDIA GeForce GTS450 is a good one to play all the games that have released yet and even you can play the battlefield 3(BF 3) in high quality

****but this graphic card will get outdated soon might be within a year or two

so my suggestion is to go on with a higher version

i would suggest you to get either ASUS NVIDIA GTX560 or GTX460 for intel processor and

RADEON HD 6870 or RADEON HD 6850 whose cost is in and around 200$

using the graphic card specified by me you can play easily in 1080 quality !!!!!!:):):):)|||if you want a good one then I recommend The Sapphire Radeon HD 5970. The Sapphire Radeon HD 5970 2GB is perhaps one of the best single video cards out at the moment. This extremely powerful video card has two GPUs on-board and a whopping 2GB of on-board memory. is perhaps one of the best single video cards out at the moment. This extremely powerful video card has two GPUs on-board and a whopping 2GB of on-board memory.

I got one too and I highly recommend it|||Its a pretty good card. Great for gaming. High or medium settings for most of the games listed.|||Not bad, i'd grab a GTX 460 though if you can afford it, or a 6850.|||I would go with nvidia. Plus it is one sick a** looking video card :P.

It would do Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on full graphics easy.

Which GPU should i buy GTS450 or GTX 550 Ti?

please dont add other GPU cause this is only available good GPU to my place and i can't order outside so here are those GPU

GTS 450 128bit/DDR5

or

GTX 550 Ti 128bit/DDR3

anyone?|||The GTX550Ti is more up market compared to the GTS450, so that's the one I'd go for, also if you go for EVGA then you should be able to get a superclocked version for alittle extra kick.|||GTX 550 Ti by a long shot, or the much better GTX 560 Ti for a few dollars more|||550 Ti for sure.

Is the hd5770 a good graphics card? I heard it crashes a lot?

I want a good gaming card, I was thinking of the GTS450 or the HD5770 and since the HD5770 is a little bit better I was heading towards that direction. Except I heard it has a driver crash problem and it wasn't very stable? Is it true?

Should I get it or should I get the GTS450 which might not crash?|||The HD 5770 is better than the GTS 450. The driver problems were during the early days (last year and the year before). I remember that my screen went grey once on the 4th day I had this card. But this problem was fixed with new driver updates.

Only downside would be using it on 1920x1080 resolution. It kinda struggles a little. I get screen tearing. A lot of people did complain about this.

Other downside is that it can only achieve up to 60fps. It can't go any higher than that. But I think this is an issue with my computer. I'm not too sure about this one.

If you still think reliability is an issue with the HD 5770 then, wait for the GTS 550 which might be faster than the HD 5770.|||I have three of these graphics card. I have two of them set up in crossfire for a gaming computer and one in an HTPC to play mostly movies.

I have never had a problem with them, even with the older drivers. They have refined the driver 10 or 11 times and I believe you are very safe getting the card.

Enjoy it.|||Own an XFX 5770. Do not game. Couple little issues with it. With the VGA the CPU Clock is about 160MHz. My room sometimes gets real cold. If the GPU temp goes down to about 34C I get a driver display error. Find it kinda of amusing that running too cool would cause this. With a DVI or HDMI the GPU Clock speed is about 400MHz. So even when the room is really cold the GPU temp will not go lower then 37C and not give me any problems. I have run the Furmark Test and have seen the GPU temp go to 96C. Not a problem. Test ran fine. They come out with new drivers about once a month. I always update, not right away and really do not know why I bother, but my computer started restarting. Opened up the dump file and come to find out it was my ATI driver. At the time I was using 10.12's. So uninstalled them and installed 10.10's and the problem went away. Do not get me wrong I like the 5770. Have been told it will run Crysis on higher settings. Hear it is a really GPU intensive game. For all I know the driver problem could have been the result of a bad download and/or install. All I can do is tell you my experiences with it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.|||The HD 5770 is a card folks like to over-clock because the 5770,s are good at it, anything that gets over-clocked is going to crash or hang when it reaches its limit, all of the 5 series cards are stable in my experience when run at or close to stock speeds, I ran my 5 series VGA for a year and never had a single crash that originated from the GPU or the AMD drivers, good luck..|||you shouldn't have issues, if the driver is crashing constantly, that could be a bad card, i have had it happen before (was an nvidia for the record). Just pick what you think is the right card performance wise, they are all fairly reliable.

What is the price of ati radeon hd 5770 in INR?

Please can anyone tell me the price of ati 5770 , 5830 , GTS450 in INR.

Please dont just convert the $ into Rs. cause there is a huge diff in them.|||Radeon HD 5770 costs around Rs.8000-10000 depends on the manufacturer and versions.some OC Models cost bit high.check this link.

as for GTS 450,cost around RS.6800 minimum.

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…

I would say avoid the HD 5830.it does not worth its price.you can get better cards like GTX 460 or even better Radeon HD 6870 by slightly more cost.

currently,Radeon HD 6850 is better buy than all of this cards, costs around RS.11000 and have much better tessellation power than any HD 5xxx series cards.it can be overclocked good as well to match the performance of Radeon HD 6870.will handle all games on 1920x1080 and maximum graphical settings.its performance is equivalent to Geforce GTX 460 1 GB version from nvidia.

Will my system support GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450?

I'm using Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.17 Ghz|||hi kris

as long as your motherboard has a pci-express x16 bus (slot ) and you have a 450w or better power supply ( with 26A or more on the +12v rails ) you will be able to use the GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450 in your pc

in regards to your processor the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 is still a capable processor.... and will work well with the GTS450...... however do remember you need 2gb of ram or more to get the best out of this card.... its not essential, you can actually run this card with just 1gb of ram..however games will run better with 2gb or more of ram

finally you should also ensure you pc has adequate cooling as all decent graphic cards especially nvidia based cards get pretty warm when gaming.... however a side mounted fan and a exhaust fan at the back of your pc should be enough to remove hot air from the case

however the more cooling the better.... and some cases such as the Coolermaster HAF 912 ( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… ) .. the HAF stands for high air flow and this range of cases are popular among pc enthusiasts as it has some of the best cooling set ups in the business..... this case is the entry level HAF ... however you can get bigger versions with even better cooling

so as long as you meet the requirements as mentioned above you will be able to safely run the GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450 in your system

i hope this helps kris, any questions let me know

good luck mate !|||Yep, as long as you have a power supply with a 6-pin pci-e adapter.|||yes no problem.

Is nVidia GTS450 1GB Graphics Card Good?

I would say it is the minimum for today games. Plus you could eventually upgrade and use it as a physx card.

The ati 5750 is the competitor model. Unlike other crossfire combination the 5750 like the 5770 tend to shine.|||Yeah that's pretty good.

What could happen if i plug in a 400 watt graphics card into a 350 watt supply?

my graphics card burned out that was original. i replaced it with a geforce gts450 1gb ram. it seems to be working perfectly normal. but i just want to know if it will slow down my computer or effect anything in the future.......and also is the geforce evega gts450 a good graphics card. i paid 160 in total for it.|||What's going to happen? It's not going to work, that's what's going to happen. The graphics card is rated for a higher amount of power than yours can produce.

The GTS450 is an ok card, but the newer GTX460 is much better.|||Ninja is right. You can also suffer from a "brown out", in which the computer cannot supply enough power to the other parts. Certain devices may not work properly at random. You should always have the correct amount of power suggested at a MINIMUM of what the video card requires.|||You can fry the PSU and if the PSU screws up your risking your entire system.

GeForce GTS450 or Ati Radeon 5750HD?

Another question from me.

I can't decide between those two.

I watched millions of reviews, both have almost the same performance but

5750HD has larger memory bandwih according to http://www.gpureview.com/Radeon-HD-5750-card-616.html (GTS450 stats-http://www.gpureview.com/GeForce-GTS-450-card-634.html)

and its 10$ cheaper that GTS 450 :D, but GTS450 is cooler looking.

So thats why i need your opinion.|||Well I can easily say that so far through my computer experience I most definitely prefer the GeForce chipset compared to the Radeon standards (just my subjective opinion). However we can compare the GTS 450 and Radeon 5750 more objectively than that. :)

We can take a look at these two links

450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

5750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

First off the 5750 has 2 DVI ports, a HDMI AND a vga port, while the 450 has the 2 DVI ports and a mini-HDMI connector. VGA ports are much older than the DVI ports, but a VGA port is always nice for an older monitor, however it would rarely be used (unless you have older monitors in your house).

More importantly the 450 has an effective memory clock of 3608MHz, while the 5750 only has an effective memory clock of 1200MHz. Score 1 for the 450 having faster memory clocking speeds. Both memory types are the same at 1GB of GDDR5 with 128 bit interface so those stats are equal.

The 450 has a clock speed of about 420Mhz while the 5750 has a core clock speed of 740Mhz. Score 2 for the 450. However, the 450 only has 192 processing units while the 5750 has a whopping 720 processing units which is a definite score 1 for the 5750.

Overall score:

5750:1

450: 2

----------

450 wins!

Ok now with all this being said here is my recommendation:

If you plan on doing video editing or having only 1 graphic intense game up at a time I would buy the GTS 450 due to its faster memory (very very important in video editing, pretty important in playing a single game) and due to its faster core clock speed. If you plan on running multiple graphic intense processes at the same time, IE dual boxing video games, playing a video game while editing video (can you even really do that effectively?) then i would buy the 5750.

The advantage to the GTS 450 is that it is able to handle a single graphic intense program better than then 5750, but due to the 5750 having so many processing units, the 5750 should be able to slightly outperform the GTS 450 when multiple graphic intense applications are running in parallel.

Hope this helps a little? Good Luck!

while 5750HD is better for photoshopping and surfing the web...etc at the same time.

Is gts450 better than 5770hd and gts250?.Can it run in my zebronics 400watt smps?

can it run in msi boston 1.0 motherboard and intel core 2 duo e7200 and windows 7 ultimate and with a 17 inches lcd monitor. Is it necessary to change any other settings of my pc?.|||Zebronics 400W is a cheap generic power supply rated for 17A on a single +12V rail. Don't use it. It's not adequate for any of the video cards you mention.

(In reality, a Zebronics 400W is more like a mediocre 300 watt power supply from 7 or 8 years ago.)

The recommended power supply for a GeForce GTS 450 is 400 watts or larger with at least 22A combined available on the +12V rails.

(The 500W version Zebronics power supply is rated for 22A on the +12V, so that would technically meet the requirement for a GeForce GTS 450, but I still wouldnt use it because the brand is generic crap.)|||A Corsair CMPSU-450VX (33A +12V) is a nice power supply. Antec NEO ECO 400C and Earthwatts EA430 are both similar to the Corsair 450VX (Seasonic designs, with 30A +12V). Seasonic S12II-430 Bronze (30A +12V) is very similar to the Antec NEO ECO 400C. Those would all easily handle a GeForce GTS 450.

Should I get the HD5770 or the GTS450 for gaming?

I want to play games like assassins creed, crysis, etc.

I know these 2 cards can play those games easy, but which one should I get?

I know the HD5770 is a little bit better but is it reliable? Is it the one best for gaming?

I want it to last long, I have heard that the HD5770 used to have a driver crash last year but I also heard it was fixed with an update. Would the HD5770 really make a significant improvement?

The cards are about the same price.

So I'm not sure, which one should I get for high graphic gaming?|||If you prefer Radeon then go for it. I would go for an Nvidia GTX 460 and above... The current games reach the 200's series of the nvidia cards, so the GTX 400's series will serve you for the next 3-4 years...

niki is right, I have got mine GeForce GT8600 for about 4 (or 5) years, and it still handle the latest games (ie BlackOps)... I will upgrade my PC this month, and get the GTX460, I also use an Intel Motherboard.|||Both video cards are quite good.Note that ATI Radeon cards run better when the CPU is AMD, the other thing goes for GeForce but they run smoother on intel.

Am talking from personal exepirince that GeForce cards are reliable because i'm with mine for 3 years at hasn't crushed even once. Even the newest games witch are going out are running without a problem, of course not at max graphics but that is something expected.

Asus 4870 512MB Black Knight vs nVIDIA GTS450?

Hello! I am currently looking to upgrade me GPU, and I work at best buy and get a HUGE discount on Graphics cards, and the GTS450 is the best one we have in store right now and was wandering if it was worth it to buy this? upgrading from a Asus 4870 DK edition.. and also, is the GTS450 better then the ATI5770? Thank you!|||The GTS 450 is roughly between the 5750 and 5770 performance wise.

The 5770 performs about the same as a 4870.

You won't see a noticeable performance increase in upgrading, (you actually might see a small, but negligible, decrease in some games).

However, your heat production and power usage will go WAYYY down.

The GTS 450 is extremely efficient, with some models even surpassing the HD 5700s in terms of low power usage and temps.

The GTS 450 also supports DX11, which is important to some and not to others. However, the 4870 supports DX10, and current DX11 games can also be played in DX10 (and sometimes DX9). Expect to take a performance hit if you decide to use DX11 instead of DX10.

The Fermi GPUs also scale extremely well in SLI (80% or higher scaling, depending on resolution). If you're considering a multi-GPU setup, then the Fermi GPUs are the way to go.

So really, it comes down to efficiency and SLI. Does power consumption matter to you, and do you ever plan on using a multi-GPU setup? Otherwise, you won't see any improvement in moving to a GTS 450.|||I would suggest to buy EVGA GeForce GTS450 FPB 1 GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card

I wanted to buy one of these, but i don't know which one is better for gaming?|||The 5770 will get high fps on most games, however the GTS450 has PhysX, 3D, and CUDA video processing technologies. So its your choice, if you're not using a 3D monitor or you don't have any games that use that go ahead and take the 5770, that vapor-x is a overclocked version of it too that performs great. PSU Upgrade for a Small form factor X3900 Desktop?

I have my hands on a Low profile GTS450, but problem is that now I do not have enough power supply. My computer is a very small desktop, and I would like to find an upgrade for it that's suitable for both X3900 desktop and GTS450.

*Or maybe I should buy a new case? Is it hard building it?|||A new case would be the best solution, finding a power supply that is over 300W for that type system is almost impossible. The biggest problem you'll have with a new case will be the pin outs. These are the front panel to motherboard connectors such as the power switch, power LED, hard drive activity LED, reset, etc. A lot of oem systems use a modular connector from the front panel that has all the wires in a single plug that connects to the motherboard, a custom case will have individual connectors...power + and -, power LED + and -, hard drive LED + and -, reset + and -, etc. Sometimes that info is marked on the motherboard, sometimes it isn't, so before you disconnect anything, make sure you know where the new connectors will go.

That's the problem with small form factor and slim tower units, they have very limited upgrade potential. If you even think that you might consider using your computer for gaming, avoid them like the plague.|||I'd definitely recommend buying a new case. This will make it much easier on your time and troubles as all ATX computer cases are standardized and you won't be having to use non-standardized power supplies and limited pin layouts on the connectors.

I recommend cheap gaming cases like those made by antec or cooler master. Here is an article reviewing 5 of such cases all for under $50.

For a power supply, go either antec or corsair. They are the top power supply brands if you don't want to break the bank.

Hi I just received my new GTS450 (EVGA) 1024mb

I installed the hardware (just put it in sideways and make sure it fits etc) + powercable

I uninstalled/reinstalled GT 8800 GT like that and it worked out, so I'm not sure why this isn't working.

When I plug in the cable to the computer it recognizes that something got plugged in because screen's power button changes color, but then it tells me NO SIGNAL DETECTED.

Now I tried this with my old video card and that has also stopped working (though I did kinda stop using it because its broken but it does at least load up to home screen for about 15 mins first (always) before it stops.

I've tried regular VGA - DVI with two different moniters but neither of them can get a signal (both monitors work with my laptop.

Any solutions?

P.S Power Supply is 950w, I'm using the power cables that I used for my GT 8800 GT they all look the same too (fan is spinning on new card though)

I installed it into blue slot

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-gef…

uses PCI-E 2.0 16x

(1024mb)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_gef…

Uses PCI-E 2.0

(512mb)

If it might incompatible with my motherboard its the XPS720 one.

Sorry I'm new and very lost|||It should be compatible with your motherboard.

Can you reinsert the 8800 GT and get it to boot? If so, uninstall the old nvidia drivers before shutting back down. Video cards work fine at low resolution using the default VGA driver, but can't always handle outdated video drivers.

Do you see ANYTHING on your monitor when you reboot the PC? (Use the power switch if needed to force a reboot). If the card is installed correctly, you should at least see the POST or DELL Splash screen appear.

EDIT -

Two things come to mind. Let's try the easy one first.

If you're new to this, are you making certain that the PCI Express retaining tab is locking the bottom of the card into place? Make sure the 6-8 pin power cords are firmly seated in the card. A loose connection would explain the problem nicely, and be an easy fix. http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/sy…

Otherwise, I'm worried that something else was disloged or disturbed while the video card was being exchanged. The system isn't beeping at you during startup by any chance? That might happen if the video card is identified as being removed. Otherwise, check all the power connectors and make sure none of them were jarred loose.

If none of that works, it's time to take it to the shop.

By the way why are you buying the GTS450? There are better GPU's in the price range currently. The ATI HD6790 is one. It absolutely demolishes the GTS450 in terms of performance. Check the links below

http://www.hwcompare.com/9979/geforce-gt…

http://alienbabeltech.com/main/hd-6790/a…|||Yes.it will work.that FSP power supply is decent.it should easily handle your system with GTS 450.

Edit-@Saswat.GTS 450 is actually faster than HD 6670.see the benchmarks.it is equivalent to or better than Radeon HD 5750/HD 6750.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4278/amds-…

it is almost 25-30% faster than Radeon HD 6670.I think you are talking about Radeon HD 6770. HD 6670 cost around Rs.5200 not Rs.6600.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/H…|||Yes, FSP is a great brand indeed. The SAGA-II 400W can power all card upto GTX-550Ti safely so, a GTS-450 is for sure run efficiently on SAGA-II 400W.

I know,i have only 300watt psu.so can i upgrade that into 500watt.which psu is good and cheap.does ati 5770/gts450 support that.i heard about 6pin or something like this, what is that?|||Find an antec or corsair, maybe cooler master power supply. If you're doing a heavy graphics card, probably shoot for 500-650 watts. 500 should be just about enough for one. Make sure it'll fit though, power supplies have different form factors.

Make sure your card fits as well. Cards could be pretty big these days, you know. You also have to make sure you have a pci express 2.0 slot on your motherboard.

Also, make sure your processor is enough for the games or programs you wanna run. If not, it's probably not worth spending the 250 for a full upgrade.

Is it worth me buying a secondary gts450 for Physx?

I currently have an asus gtx460 running quite nicely but am wondering if I might gain anything by buying a secondary asus gts450 for physx? I've heard some quite good things from doing this but they usually use the more higher end cards and sli them on top of all that.

I'm using an i5 2500 with Windows 7.

Anyone got any advice?|||ideally you need two cards the same to SLI them, so it is not going to work.

The GTX460 already has an inbuilt Physics engine that is working with your games that support it but you can SLI 2x 460´s and get a better performance from many games as it will split the game play video and physics between the cards.|||I don't think you need to. gtx460 already have Physx on it (I'm currently using gtx460, look amazing on Battlefield Bad company 2) and it's depend on game engine as well.

If you just want to make things look better, invest another gtx 460. Best SLI for the price so far!!|||It's not worth it and I think the 460gtx already has physx. Try getting a 240gts or a 9600gt because those are good for decent physx, but my advise is that it's not worth getting another card when your card already supports it.|||You can't use two different cards anyway - not with Nvidia's SLI

Only 'Crossfire' from AMD/ATI allows different cards, for SLI, they must match|||I agree with shining soul. Since you have nvidia card, physx is already on. It would make sense if you had an ATI/AMD Card, since they don't have physx on.

And, how much of a performance increase would I see with the GTS450? and i'll be HEAVILY gaming with this card, so should I go with the GTS450, OR THE GTX460?|||Go for GTX 460 1GB version which performs 40-50 % better than GTS 450.|||The 460 is the only one which will show you a performance difference.Your 4870 is faster than the gts 450 and the 5770.There is no need to upgrade anyway.Your current gpu is still great and the radeon 6000 series will soon be released.

it supports crossfire but not SLI, there are hacked drivers to install but they dont always work, and its not worth running two GTS450 in SLI, its better to sell the one you got and buy a newer more high end card, will give alot better performance and you dont have to worry about the normal problems with games not supporting SLI and bad scaling now and then

GeForce GTS450 in ASUS P5GZ-MX?

I'm in need of a new graphics card for my old computer, which has an ASUS P5GZ-MX motherboard. Is GTS450 a good graphic card? Will it fit my computer?

I bought a new computer, and I like everything else except for my graphic card. My CPU is Intel I7 core 2.80 Ghz, ram is 6gb but my Graphic card is GT320, lower-end of 300 series. I've been wandering if GTS450 would improve my perfomance. Would it fit the 'Graphic card slot' in my computer?|||Yes, GTS 450 is a mainstream card that is better. It has 192 shaders while GT 320 only has 72. Check GTS 450 benchmarks here;

http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/196…

Just take note of the power requirement of the GTS 450, 106 watts, thus it needs a 6-pin PCIe power connector from power supply. The GT 320 is just a 43W card.

Edit: Low power cards like the GT 320 draw power from the PCIe slot (75W max). Cards that need more than 75W have to draw extra power directly from power supply via the 6 (or 8) pin PCIe power connector. 6-pin PCIe power connector is shown here at lower right;

http://www.techreport.com/r.x/geforce-gt…

GTS 450 would fit the graphics slot provided there is no other card on the slot immediately adjacent to graphics slot.|||that definetely would boost your performance. and im pretty sure that it'd fit in ur pc, it really matters how old your desktop box is...

Can I use GeForce GTS450 in the Intel DH67BL motherboard with the Intel i7 2600k processor?

Yea, but that's a very bad mismatching of parts.

1. H67 motherboards are meant for users who want to use the on-board graphics.

2. The Intel i7-2600k is an unlocked cpu, but a H67 motherboard cannot overclock so you should get a Intel 2600 CPU.

3. The GTS 450 is a weak card and it would be a pity to see such a nice CPU be stuck with a weak video card. At least get the GTX 460 which is 50% better than the GTS 450.

4. If it's for gaming, I strongly suggest the i5-2500k since the i7-2600k has no advantage over the cheaper i5-2500k.

I would suggest that you get a P67 motherboard instead. This will allow you to overclock your CPU.

Or, I would suggest that you get a much cheaper CPU such as the i3-2100 or i5-2300.

i3-2100+H67+no video card = cheap computer that you can do all the basic things on a computer minus gaming.

i3-2100+GTS450+H67 = cheap computer that can play some games but not the high graphics games

i5-2500k+GTX460+P67 = mid range computer that can play a lot of games in high graphics

i7-2600k+GTS450+H67 = expensive CPU on a computer that won't play the high graphics games.

How do I install a GTS450?

Someone talked to me about a 6pcie thingy.and I got no idea. My cpu is Intel core I7 860 quadcore, and my original graphic card is GT320. Will the new one just fit in in the same spot? Will my cpu be able to handle it? will it run sc2 everything on ultra with high res?|||Yeah just take the old one out and slot the new one in, its that simple!

Personally I would have a Sapphire 5770 Vapor-X but thats just me, it has a very good cooling system which is awesome for overclocking! But again, thats up to you. The process will be the exact same.

Oh and your CPU will be more than capable of doing most things that you throw at it!

Need help comparing the Gigabyte Nvidia GTS450 to the Sapphire HD5770?

I play css mostly and at the moment I can get 300 fps with my HD4870 but it keeps overheating. I am either going to buy the Nvidia GTS 450 OC or the HD5770. What would I be able to get on each graphics card? I run on all low settings (something to do with hit registry). And which would be able to run empire total war and fallout new vegas the best?|||http://tomshardwre.com -- see their charts for all graphics cards -- those will be in the 2010 edition

their reviews of the individual cards refer to specific games -- not sure which.

BUT that overheating problem won't go away unless the issue is the fan on the 4870 -- if the problem is getting heat out of your case, you need more airflow, not a new graphics card|||The 4870 is actually faster than the 5770 is. You don't have DX11, but the GPU/memory are faster. As such you'll be spending at least $100 on something you don't need. Do what the other guy said. Crack open the case, clean it out with compressed air, and put in an extra fan or two.

Will a NVIDIA GTS450 video card run on a 350w power supply?

My computer's not too shabby, but it has a pretty pathetic video card, so I'm going to upgrade it so I can play some occasional games on it. I've chosen the NVIDIA GTS450 since it's a good balance of price and performance. My computer has a 350w power supply installed by default, but will the video card run comfortably on that wattage? If not, what should I upgrade to?|||Probably not.... Radeon HD 6670 would be fine, but a GTS 450 would probably overtax it. Keep in mind that midrange graphics cards also require a dedicated power connector from the psu, and most 350W and lower units don't have that. Higher-end cards require multiple connectors.

The general recommendation for psu upgrades these days is to install 500W or higher, although in your case 430-450W is fine. The brand/quality is very important- always go with a reputable psu maker like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, Silverstone, or OCZ if possible. Avoid bargain-basement brands like Logisys and Diablotek.

It's a good idea to buy something strong enough to support cards a level above the one you're considering now. With a decent 500W psu you can support any cards up to the $240 range.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||From what I'm seeing for the minimum power requirements of 400 watts, I'd say you shouldn't try it. You could upgrade from your current 350 watt power supply to 450 watts for reliability, and sell the 350 watt power supply you currently have installed to someone for a few bucks anyways. If you burn it up and take other components with it, you have nothing and still have to buy a new minimum 400 watt power supply and possibly any other ruined components. That's what I'd do.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…|||i would use a 500 power supply if you have a stock computer and if you are just adding that on, and the others are right, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ATI RAEDON 5770

ps. look on newegg.com for the best prices (dont shop at best buy) they rip u off!!

and if you want to go even cheeper, the radeon 5670 is also amazing and i can run starcraft 2 on ultra settings and crysis and everything and its only about 75 dollers!!!|||It should be able to run on your 350w power supply, but, don't be surprised if the computer spontaneously powers off while gaming under load. You really should be on a quality 450-550w power supply. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||GTS 450 is not a good balance of price and performance when a Radeon 5770 or 6770 outruns it at the same price.

And while you might be able to get away with 350w, it really isn't recommended.

Is there a lot of performance difference between gtx460 and gts 450? plz help?

im restricted to these options due to budget limitation i can only afford gts450 am i missing much if i dont upgrade to gtx460?

plz help

cheers!!|||Assuming you want to use that for gaming, then yes, there's a big difference between the two. The GTS 450 is an entry-level card where the GTX 460 is the mainstream card. You can compare the performance of specific make/models the two at Tom's Hardware. I picked a couple 460s and 450s from the list and looked. It appears that the 450 typically runs games at frame rates about 1/2 to 3/5 the speed of the 460.

The price difference between these two appears to be warranted. You get about 60-100% increase in speed for about 60% more. This is based on what I see as Newegg prices between the two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis…

Several of the GTX 460s there have good rebates because the they are being phased out to be replaced with the GTX 560. You might be able to swing one of those after rebate for something much closer to the price of GTS 450.

Can a amd athlon 64 x2 5200+@2.71GHz bottleneck a gts450@810MHz while playing gta 4 in 1980*1080 res?

what happens if i overclock it to say 3GHz|||Most definitely. And it would still bottleneck, and it would likely not accept that overclock anyway.|||Both are extremely weak for GTA4, even if overclocked. Playing GTA4 @ 1920x1080 requires a high performance video card, and a quad. I should know, because I'm on a Phenom II X4 clocked @ 3.7Ghz, with a GTX 470. And I play at 1920x1080. Even I have to turn a few settings down for playable performance in GTA4. It's one of the most demanding PC games.

EDIT: cpt_rose, you seriously should NOT advise people on overclocking, since you obviously know next to nothing about it. You sound like some Dell rep reading from some outdated FAQ from 1993. Overclocking isn't for nubs like you, it's for people who know how to navigate through their BIOS and safely adjust what needs to be adjusted. Both Intel and AMD obviously encourage overclocking since all their boards are feature-rich with overclocking options. If you are within the safe voltage threshold for any CPU, along with low temps, then performance and lifespan WILL NOT "degrade" over time. That is a myth. Stop being an illiterate nub and educate yourself on it. Seriously.|||Anytime you over clock your hardware you run a real risk of causing serious damage to them and shortening their life span. I don't recommend over clocking anything unless you just have money to replace the hardware when you blow it.

Suggest me a (cheapest) power supply of 550-600watt ??? Which can run gts450 ?

my budget is 1500rs|||i will also recommend not going for cheap power supplys

u must have invested around 8000 Rs for GTS 450

so buy some nice power supply for it , go for Corsair / Coolermaster / Antek , they may be expensive , but u will get safe performance as well

also warranty period is nice as well , so it will be good future investment if u add some money and go for bit higher than required for now (it will be good even u upgrade something later on)

i got 5 years warranty for a Corsair SMPS|||Do not go out just picking the cheapest "550w" PSU you can find. There are lots of companies that make unreliable, garbage power supplies that greatly exaggerate the wattage listed on the box. And you'll soon be posting back here why your computer shuts down under load while gaming. You want a QUALITY power supply, from either of the following companies: Corsair, Antec, Silverstone, SeaSonic, Thermaltake, XFX, PC Power & Cooler, Enermax, Cooler Master, or OCZ. Anything other than these brands: AVOID at all costs. For the GTS 450, I would personally recommend you the Corsair VX550w: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

Will it works? because i heard the GPU is designed for 1680×1050 gaming from this link

http://blogs.nvidia.com/2010/09/new-gefo…

So, will 1080p monitor works with gts450?|||The blog posts says the card was optimized for a 1680x1050, but it doesn't mean it can't support a higher one. Despite being a mid-range GPU, the TOP (Top Overclocking Performance) in the model tells me that it's definitely not a slouch. I have no doubt it will work with your 1080p monitor provided you have have connected them (GPU and monitor) properly and the correct drivers are installed. I've recently stuck my old nVidia GeForce 7900GTX into my HTPC and even it can support a 1080p resolution.|||All graphics card work on a resolution the monitor's highest support. Thanks!|||The 6770 wins by MILES.... its not even a decision lol

(btw video memory is not a way to buy cards, just because it has 2gb doesnt make it good).

Which graphics card is better: EVGA GeForce GTS450 FPB 1 GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 or XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DD?

I have a M2N78-LA (Violet) motherboard and am wanting to play LOTRO and DC Universe Online better. Currently I have an integrated NVIDA 9100 and need better. I also plan on getting a new power source as I need one for these video cards. Would this power supply be sufficient enough: Cooler Master - eXtreme Power Plus 500-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply.

Thanks.|||yes the PSU will work for either. and the 5770 is a bit better then the 450. for the actual benchmarks just google it|||Usually when it comes down to GeForce and Radeon its more about price, they are pretty simular when it comes down to things, The Nvidia does outperform the radeon on high settings though and GeForce's in my opinion are more reliable and have better cooling when it comes down to playing games like Rift and Black Ops/Dead Space etc. The Cooler Master Xtreme and your PSU seems sufficient though, I wouldn't worry about that, heat is usually made from your CPU rather than your gfx card.

Is 680w psu enough for gts450 sli'd?

CPU: Phenom X4 620 Propus 95w

Fans: 2 x 80mm Blue LED fan

1 x 120mm rear fan

Motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131637

Other:

320gb Hard Drive 7200rpm

Some random DVD-RW Drive

PSU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709027

If not, what video cards do you recommend?|||Yes that should be enough juice, I run 2 GTX460's overclocked to 825MHz, and an i7920 OC to 3.5GHz, with a 750W PSU.

If you are just buying the cards, you would be better off spending the money on a single GTX570 though in my opinion, the $300 for 2 cards is a lot, and you will not pick up that many FPS by SLIing to lower end cards, over buying one higher end card.

NVidia GTS450 vs Ati Radeon HD5750?

Which one is better for HD gaming? I had a nVidia9600GT before and I was satisfied with it. Help me decide, please.|||they are both close in performance. BUT I like physx so ill go with nvidia all the way. Also Nvidia can be over clocked alot better than ATI.. just my opinion..

The reason why i also LOVE nvidia is because of their great support for linux.

edit.

Yes Nvidia has better drivers for linux than even windows. They have great linux drivers. I would not use linux without Nvidia. on my old 9500 GT i get 7000+ FPS on Ubuntu/linuxmint when i run glxgears in the terminal. Make sure after you install it you go to the menu > under administration> hardware > and install teh recommended nvidia drivers. ATI sucks under linux. trust me!!

and no ATI does not offer that :P. the card GTS 450 is teh one i am getting for xmas ( gifting myself to upgrade from my 9500GT. I am giving my 9500 GT to my gf ( i am building her a new pc to replace her 4 years old laptop).|||Overall, the GTS 450 is slightly better, although the 5750 has the edge in Crysis. The GTS 450 even matches the HD 5770's performance in a few titles, plus it's got hardware PhysX support.

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphic…

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…|||i'd say go with nvidia but if got money go for GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 470 its a really nice and better card over the gts 450 and matches the amd hd 6870 very close.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||the gts450 is better at gaming.

Zotac GTS450 ON 350W?

The price for this card has dropped and the power usage has dropped too. This card only requires 400W. Should I get this card too?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||>That is a great price for the card. Go get it.|||if you want to run this video card you need to use at least a 400 watt power supply. there not too expensive and if you use it on a 350 watt supply it may blow up. i have had this happen before.

NVIDIA GeForce GTS450 directx11?

Isn't the GTS450 meant to be a directx11 video card? My system thinks it is a directx10 card, is this because my system is lying and it is running 11, or do I have to manually enable directx11? Here is a picture.

http://img153.imageshack.us/i/directx10.png/

The brand of the card is Galaxy if that makes a difference..|||yes thats directx 11 card

if your runing windows 7 it comes with directx11 also you might need run windows updates to get any updates microsoft has released

if your runing vista it comes with directx10 only for 11 you'd need to do all the windows updates to get direct 11 on vista

also make sure you install the latest nvidia drivers from the nvidia website also

other than that you can google direct x and down load the latest runtime pakage.

Sparkle GTS450 1GB DDR5 128bit?

Hi people. I'm just wondering, cause I am going to buy a PCI-E card at the end of the month. I saw this GTS450 and it requires a 6-pin connector, but when I checked my tower, I didn't see any 6-pin connector. Now my question is, is the 6-pin connector optional? If not, how am I going to use my PCI-E card without it? My motherboard is DG31PR with 500w of PSU. Thanks a lot people.

AND PLEASE, lastly.. I am still comparing these two cards:

Radeon HD5670 and Nvidia GTS450.............. please help me|||It's not a very good power supply if it has no PCI-E connector.

Usually the graphics card comes with a 2x 4-pin moles to 1 PCI-E 6-pin adaptor. I would check to make sure.

The GTS 450 is a better card than the 5670. The GTS 450 is on the same level as the 5750. If the prices are the same then get a 5770.

A voice in my head says you looked at Best Buy. That is probably the worst place on the planet to buy a graphics card. You would be 10X better off by ordering it online. You can get a 5770 or 6770 for about $110-120 at newegg.com.

Yes, you have to connect the 6-pin power connector to the card. Otherwise it won't work. Like I said, usually the card comes with a molex to PCI-E 6-pin adaptor.

Check the link below. You will see that the GTS 450 is much faster then the 5670.

I would check the pictures at newegg.com.|||GTS 450 is a crap when compared to HD 5670. Get the HD 5670 DDR5 or add a bit more and get HD 6670 1GB DDR5. Both cards have much better performance than GTS-450 and have lower power consumption too.

Also HD 5670/6670 dont require any additional power connector, just the PCIe slot is enough. So, both these will run efficiently on your PSU unlike the GTS-450.|||It's not optional. If you have a 500w PSU without a 6 pin power plug then it's a horrid piece of crap. That being said, most cards will come with a molex adapter so you can use it.

And why the 5670 and the GTS 450? The Radeon 5770 or 6770 is the same price as the 450 and soundly beats it.

Is the evga geforce gts450 video card really good?

its good enough for almost any game on medium-high, but you could still do much better.

Is the Asus 1G GTS450 a good card and could it run new games well?

The price is good and was wondering if it could run games well such as Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3 etc.|||You should definately get ASUS GTS450 1 GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Video Card Overclocking Edition

*Overclocked with above 850 MHz engine clock for this TOP edition

*DirectCU Thermal Solution with 2 Heat pipes for reaching up to 20% cooler and 35% quieter than generic GeForce GTS450

Which is better for gamers zotac gts450 with 810 MHz or asus gts450 with 783 MHz?

Zotac GTS450

The more Megahertz, the better.

Which graphic card is equal to ati radeon 5770hd in nvidia for gaming?

will gts450 beat 5750 and gts250 in gaming performance?and will gts450 beat 5770hd in gaming?|||well, there is no Nvidia card which performs exactly similar to HD 5770.overclocked version of geforce GTS 450 may perform neck to neck with HD 5770 in some titles.those OC editions cost even moe than the HD 5770.

HD 5750 is slightly better than GTS 250 and GTS 450 performs similar to HD 5750 and sometimes get little more fps in some games than HD 5750.look at the benchmarks.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…

http://www.techspot.com/review/315-nvidi…|||Here's the performance ladder

GTS 450 == Radeon 5750

NONE == Radeon 5770 <= there is currently no Nvidia card that can match a 5770 in price and performance.

GTX 460 == Radeon 5850

To the answer below me:

Those benchmarks are SYNTHETIC benchmarks, and are not representative of performance in the real world. If you pit the GTS 450 against a 5750 in gaming (for e.g Modern Warfare 2) they come out with extremely similar scores.

If you look closely in the chart you linked to, the 5870 has higher scores than the 5970 (a dual GPU card)

In gaming, the 5970 performs way better than the 5870.

Take those results with a grain of salt. They are not accurate!

HD5770 vs gts450 ?????

Which is best? And by how far?

Thanks.

I want to use one of them as a gaming card, high graphics stuff like crysis, assassins creed, etc.|||really boils down to chip preference, specially with factory overclocked gts 450. The 5770 is faster on paper, but the GTS has superior driver support. This difference means that the 5770 may achieve higher FPS, but the GTS has more consistent FPS averages. I use 5770 on my htpc and gts450 Sonic from Palit on a light gaming PC. If i had to choose, it would be GTS450, simply because catalyst drivers are a nightmare, specially on overclocked systems, and the reference design cooler is louder than the custom solutions from Palit.|||in this case,HD 5770 is better...since they use same Buswidth of 128bit,they differ in memory bandwidth..GTS450 can transfer 57.73gbps while other one can transfer 76.8gbps..

so u can use HD 5770 for better performance..still it cant be considered as a gaming card since gaming card needs atleast 256bit bus width..so it can be considered as between medium and high cards..u can play most of the latest games with this card...some games might run in high settings and others like crysis, bad company 2 run in medium settings..

have a nice day!

ofcourse,in this case select HD 5770..

for maximum performance u could choose anything above HD5800 series and HD6800 series..in case of GeForce cards,GTX460 and above and GTX570 and GTX580 series..|||Actually the HD 5770 is slightly better than the gts 450:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/2…

The HD 5770 was very popular and always considered better by most review sites so if they were the same price, I'd definitely choose the HD 5770.

The HD 6870 does not replace the HD 5770. The HD 6870 significantly more powerful and is more of a high range card while the HD 5770 neatly falls into the mid range market. ATI hasn't released a HD 6000 series equivalent of the HD 5770.|||I highly recommend http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ for benchmarking.

HD5770 is ranked 40 and GTS is ranked 45. The difference isn't significant. The HD5770 has a rating of 1626 compared to the gts450's 1440. (higher is better)|||The 450 is better. There is no point getting a 5770 anyways. The 6870 replaced it like 3 months ago.

Can gts250 run latest games in maximum settings?.Is it better than gts450?.?

Tell me the best nvidia graphic card below 7500rupees..can gts 450 or gts250 support this?|||GTS 250 and GTS 450 are almost same performancewise

GTS 450 has advantage of being DirectX 11 card over GTS 250 which is DirectX 10.1 card

with both these cards , u can play almost all current games @ high settings with resolution of 1920*1080 or lower (i.e. 22" or lower size monitors) with good gameplay

provided that u have good processor and ram|||hi! friend,

can gts250 runs latest games- yes it will, but at high settings this would not satisfy you.

and is it better than gts450 , then the answer is no.gts450 is much more better than gts250, as gts450 is latest then gts250 , gts450 has double the memory then gts250( i.e. gts450= 1gb), it has dx11 and shader model 5.0 support. as compare to gts250, gts250 has 512mb memory , dx10 and shader model 4.1 support.

at last gts450 is the best choice for you b/w these two cards.

gts450 costs around Rs 9k and gts250 costs around Rs 7k, so make your choice....|||a gts450 is better

Which video card is a better suggestion?

Since my processors and ram are pretty good, the only problem my computer actually have is the outdated video card, an Ati HD 4300 1 GB DDR2.

So i was thinking, which one should i get at the moment, i was thinking of the EVGA GeForce GTS450 FPB 1 GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card 01G-P3-1450-TR on amazon since it's at 120 dollars and my limit is pretty much 150 at the moment.

Any suggestions?|||GTX 460. Big step up.

Is Nvidia GeForce GTS450 launched in India?

Um, you live there, you'd know better than people who don't.

Is AMD M3 2 x4(635) and nvidia gts450 good enough? im a bit stuck in choosing which CPU n graphic card?

CPU n graphic card question|||That computer will play any game on the market.

The quad core Athlon II are fast CPUs and the GTS 450 is just a bit slower than a ATI 5770.

You have a good gaming machine, editing machine, graphics machine.

the only issue you might have if your wanting to play games on a super high resolution monitor at maximum settings.

like a 24 inch monitor, but that is not too likely either.|||Depends on what you wanna do with your PC, But it should be fine to run most application and run most games...

I have a AMD phenom 2 x4 955 BE with and Nvidia GTX 465 does everything i need|||Not really sure what your questions is.....

That is a decent combo....I personally have a AMD x6 1055t and GTX 465

Can I run Napoleon total war on ultra setting with this gaming rig?

CPU - AMD Phenom X6 1055T AM3 2.8ghz 6mb Cache

Motherboard - M4A78LT-M

Memory - 8gb DDR3 1333 PC10660

Hard Drive - 1000gb Sata Hard Drive

Graphics Card - Nvidia Geforce GTS450 1gb palit|||I would say yes a ok. That is a real nice computer.

Will the gfx card fit into the motherboard?

I have an g33m msi motherboard and i want to get an gigabyte gts450 1GB GDDR5 128bit core[930mhz] shader[1860mhz] memory[4000mhz] overclocked

will the gfx card fit into my motherboard ?|||Does your motherboard have a 16x PCIe slot? Yes? Then what do you think?

Which is best? nvidia gts450 or ATI 6770?

iv used both i prefer nvidia gts450|||The Radeon HD 6770 is better. It's just a renamed HD 5770, but the 5770 is a level above the GTS 450 (which is equivalent to the Radeon HD 5750)

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…

http://www.techspot.com/review/359-nvidi…

At lower resolutions like 1440x900 and 1680x10450 the GTS 450 plays very well, even matching the 5770 in a few games. But in most cases the 5770 is still ahead. At higher resolutions like 1920x1080 the GTS 450 simply can't keep up.|||6770 is better. 6770 equals the GTX 550 Ti.

What graphics is best ati5770 or nvidia gts450?

Yes, ati5770 is the fastest one here, but ati drivers s*ck hard.|||dude if u have money to spend on graphic card spens 2000INR more u'll get HD6850 instead of HD5770..

HD6850>HD5770>GTS450

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/high_e…

Who of those card asus gts450 1gb gddr5 ,gigabyte radeon HD 4850AMD, ATI HD5770 1GB can run battlefield 3 ?

and who is the best one|||5770 by far but it still wont be on highest settings|||The HD 5770 will run it the best.

Can a amd athlon 64 x2 5200+@2.71GHz bottleneck a gts450@810MHz while playing gta 4 in 720p?

The CPU will bottle neck your gts450 but it will be able to run GTA4 at 720p, or a bit lower graphics, but yes most likely will be able to :)|||GTA 4 is a multi-threaded game software. It works best on a quadcore or multi-core processor. Any fast dualcore can run the game but it will be bottlenecked because the dualcore gets overwhelmed by the multi-threads.

A number of new/recent games are now multi-threaded. Examples are Battlefield BC2, CoD Black Ops and Metro 2033.

Whats better for gaming the Asus GTX 550 TI or the sparkle nvidia geforce GTS450 ?

Just wondering on what to get for my gaming build ? the GTS is £10 more so price isn't a problem|||The GTS and GT nvidia graphic cards are really entry level gaming cards, the gtx is better for gaming and that gtx 550 ti can handle most games for medium to high settings with the right specs. the most popular is the gtx 560 ti , go for the asus|||I have the EVGA 550ti right now and it is a great card. I can imagine that the Asus version is not much different. Also, the 550 ti has a performance boost that the 450 does not include.

It is your choice in the end, but personally I wouldn't want a card made by sparkle.|||The GTX 550 Ti beats the GTS 450, regardless of brand.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gefo…

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac…

The GTX 460 and Radeon HD 6850 beat the GTX 550 Ti, so check prices on those cards, too.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/rade…|||Get the Asus, and stay away from anything made by Sparkle.|||The GTS is more, wow that's weird, the GTX's is a higher spec graphics card.

NVidia GeForce GTS450 1GB or AMD (ATI) Radeon HD 5770 1GB? For Gaming?

Im trying to decide between the GTS450 of HD5770 for my new computer for gaming, btw why is Direct 11x good?|||The HD5770 is the faster card. Contrary to what nVidia would have you believe, it competes with the HD5750, not the HD5770.

DirectX 11 is good for the same reason that a modern car is better than a 10 year old one. Newer technology improves performance, improves power consumption, improves efficiency and most importantly, makes stuff look much better.|||It's not preference, like people say here, it's a fact, nVidia is better than similar ATI anytime.

Definitely get nVidia, but you want this GTX460 instead, it's much better and only $149 at newegg.com ($109 after rebate)

EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1367-TR GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||Go for ATI, its the better performing GPU between those two.

Good or Bad, DirectX 11.0 is essential for modern games to run smoothly as it accelerates the performance of your hardware by syncing it with the software.|||Its mainly personal choice, the GeForce GTS 450 supports PhysX while the Radeon HD 5770 supports EyeFinity. Also DirectX 11 has more features in it compared to DirectX 9 and 10.|||its realy a matter of personal preffrence ........ i like geforce better myself ..... more controll over customized settings in my oppinion ........... you really need to try them both out befor you decide though ... both good cards|||http://www.gpu-wars.com/

Which is better for gamers zotac gts450 810 with MHz or asus gts450 with 783 MHz?

If i was you i would definantlley go for the zotac GTS because now a days the quality that zotax is displaying is amazing. Asus on the other hand is known for some fault or not much good.|||it's true that 810 MHz will have edge on 783 MHz card

but performance difference will be negligible , u will get hardly 1-2 frames more in more demanding games like Crysis , Metro 2033 , Mafia 2 , Battlefield Bad Comnay 2 etc

and Core clock is not the only factor to determine overall performance of the graphic card

u have memory clock , shader clock , memory type , memory bandwidth etc factor is consideration as well

i will personally go wid one wid less price and better after service provider (should not take more than 3 weeks in case of replacement)

also check out the box contents , some times u get game's free download coupon (legal copy) , cable converting dongles (DVI to HDMI etc) and such stuff

Is nvidia GTS450 is a good graphics card for gaming?

Is this video card good.i am in low budget.so i choose that.i know u people say that i should buy ati 5770 or nvidia gtx460 for my desktop pc.but these are high end and are very expensive.so suggest me a good and cheap 1GB graphics card(direct x11 compatible) if nvidia GTS450 is not good for gaming?|||The GTS 450 is good for gaming on monitors with a resolution of 1680x1050 or lower. If your monitor resolution is 1920x1080 then you'll need a slightly more powerful card like the Radeon HD 5770 or GeForce GTX 550Ti.

The Radeon 5770 isn't very expensive, it's usually the same price as a GTS 450 or maybe $10 more. That's why it's recommended so often.... currently it sells for around $120, or $99 after rebate.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

The Sapphire card model is better, and actually cheaper with free shipping.

After the 5770 cards start to get more expensive. The GTX 550Ti is around $130, The 768 GTX 460 is around $150, and the Radeon HD 6850 is around $165. That's a big jump in price.

Keep in mind that for any of these cards, your power supply must meet the card's requirements. For computers with a stock 300W power supply, the best card you can install is a GeForce GT440. The GTS 450 requires at least a 400W power supply, while the Radeon HD 5770 requires at least a 450W power supply. It's generally recommended to have a 500W power supply or higher, which allows you to use any cards up to the $250 level.

For gaming at resolutions of 1680x1050, 1440x900 or lower, the GTS 450 is fine.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best…|||If u r to choose bw those 2.. then GT 450 is the way to go, as it performs a little better than the radeon 5770 and both are priced almost the same around us$80-100... but if u r looking for even cheaper card go for gts 250..it performs well at lower resolutions.. But b4 buying make sure u r power supply is enough (the above cards require extra power connectors)...

Help with buying a graphics card?

Can you buy any VGA card with any mobo.

I have an Acer FMCP7AM mobo, with GeForce G100, but i would like to buy an EVGA GTS450.

Do I need to look to something special or not ?|||there are issues -- the card has to fit in the same slot as the mobo provides [PCIe x1, x4, x16, or AGP]. you also have to have sufficient power and enough cooling, plus the physical space for the proposed card to fit.

get the specs on your Acer and proceed from there.

Thank you!|||Ati 5770 still rocks. But for the budget you can choose the gts 450. The 5770 has eye finity and many other features which are still comparitively less in gts450. You could still choose NVidia for the price point.

I recently changed my graphics card and windows transparency doesn't work for me. can anybody help me?

It means the stock clock is higher than the original version of the card and you can overclock it more than you could of with the regular card. Usually you can overclock better around 10%-25% better.|||Are sure it doesn't say superClocked http://www.guruht.com/2010/09/evga-gefor…|||It just means that the clock speed was increased at the factory. The product will simply run faster than other cards of the same type, in this case GTS450.

Is Nvidia GeForce GTS450 available in India?

eBay is quite a good site to get things from sometimes you cam get things cheaper from it than elsewhere

Is Nvidia GeForce GTS450 is better than ATI Radeon HD 6670?

A GeForce GTS 450 would destroy an Radeon HD 6670.

http://www.hwcompare.com/10840/geforce-g…

A Radeon HD 6770 would destroy a GeForce GTS 450.

http://www.hwcompare.com/7741/geforce-gt…

A GeForce GTX 550 would have higher FPS than a Radeon HD 6770, but the 6770 would have better texture filtering meaning it would take less of a FPS hit when graphical detail is turned up compared to its FPS without any detail.

Different memory clock then site says GTS450?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

i just bought this the other week.the sites clearly says it has a 4k memory clock why is it im only getting 2k memory clock and it still at default is this a typo on the site or whats the problem.

just trying to get down to the bottom of this.

and that is the exact one i bought from that link at that?|||the memory clock is multiplied depending on architecture

the memory clock shown on wedsites is the effective memory clock.

ATi architecture runs memory clocked between 1000mhz and 1200mhz but runs on 4 channels so clocks between 4000mhz and 4800mhz

nvidea has 2 channels to clocks at 4000 mhz effectivly but the memory is actually at 2000mhz

GTS450 vs GTS250 ......advice ?

hi guys

ive found this nvidia GTS450 for just £81 ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/251328 ) ... in terms of performance would this be a improvement on my current XFX GTS250...?

the only concern is the reduced 128bit memory interface compared to the 256bit memory interface in the GTS250..... this also results in a lower memory bandwidth ( 57.7gb/sec) compared to 70.4gb/sec in the GTS250

what do you reckon... is it worth it ?

thanks guys !|||Don't forget that the GTS450 also introduces DirectX11 support and High Def audio streaming over HMDI, which your GTS250 does not.

However, 15% for £81 doesn't sound like a great deal to me, especially when you consider that for just over twice the price you could have a GTX460, complete with the 256-bit memory interface you like and 115GB/s memory bandwidth. That will be much better value in terms of performance per pound.|||hi brian, (i know this is out of the blues unrelated to this question but i dont know another way to contact you) you answered my question upon how to rate an gaphics card if your free could you please give me your IM i could very use your help on choosing one thanks alot

9800GTX VS. GTS450 Help?

Okay i have a 9800GTX, and i was wondering if a GTS450 would be worth $80+?

Key Points: DirectX 11 and more CUDA's, but is it worth it? (Performance Wise) Like In WoW and RIFT I'm i gonna see a Good Increase in FPS, plus is F@H rate gonna go up enough to warrant the Price Tag??

Thanks|||The GTS450 and 9800GTX perform neck-to-neck in benchmarks. Unless you are going to be playing DX11 games or doing stuff with CUDA all day, there is no point in upgrading from a 9800GTX to a GTS450.

I hope this helps!|||The GTS 450 is much better performance then the 9800GTX.

The GTS 250 is the same as the 9800GTX and the GTS 450 has much better performance than both of them. The GTS 450 has DDR5 memory which is faster then DDR3, also it has DirectX 11 and more performance on CUDA. Also you will have an great increase on FPS with the GTS 450, It will play very high settings on Wow and RIFT. I promise you this will be a good upgrade and make sure you have at least a 500 Watts PSU (power Supply) to run the GTS 450. Make sure to get a good PSU brand such as Cool Master, Antec or Corsair. Also make sure if your CPU is a dual or quad to run this graphic card. I have the GTS 250 with a Intel Core 2 Duo 6850 and it sure can play lots of new games on high, but not much better as the GTS 450. It will be worth it, I promise you that. But if you want to get great performance in very high settings with newer games, I would save your money for a GTX 460 or GTX560. That should be your next step (if you like to play other games than RIFT and WoW).

Hope I helped ;)

Can i run the latest games in maximum settings without any stuck or in other words smoothly in gts450 graphic?

can i run mafia 2,gta 4,crysis,call of duty black ops and other latest games in max settings smoothly in gts450?and even can i run benchmarks in this graphic card smoothly in high settings?|||No. If you want a really good gaming card, go a step up to the 460 GTX|||yes , u can

as far as ur resolution is below 1920*1080

and u have a quad core processor and 4 GB or more ram

Would this computer be good for gaming with no lag?

Processer: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 840 (3.2GHz)

Memory: 10GB DDR3-1333 Gaming Grade Memory Module

Hard Drive: 1TB 7200RPM Hard Disk Drive

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS450 1GB Video Card|||The AMD Quad Core is a good processor. I had a similar system about a year ago before I upgraded to the new X6.

AMD is still cheaper then Intel. There are some differences in speed between the two but most are related to encoding and decoding media files which Intel has a lead on.

Personally I have not experienced much difference in gaming on either platform.

As for your memory issue I do have to agree with the other answerer that 10GB is an odd number in terms of memory. To get best performance on any computer system you need to match the memory with the same type. Meaning all same size sticks, clock speed, etc...

As for your hard drive it depends on how much data you store, how many games you install, etc... 1TB should be decent to start with more then likely you may add another drive later on. Most installed games take up between 8-25 GB each.

Your graphics card is good. It should be able to handle most games with medium to high quality. I still run a 1GB 9800GTX which runs battlefield bad company 2 at low/medium at 1024x768 with no problem.

Lag with games is a combination of multiple things your memory, background processes running, and if online your internet connection. Ping speed, up speed, down speed, and your connection type (wireless or wired)

If you are on a wireless lan then you can expect some lag even with the new N routers and cards. Your connection will vary on wireless depending on distance from the router or access point plus walls, objects and atmospheric conditions. If you are a serious gamer then stick with a wired connection.|||If you mean without frame rate issues, it is decent enough. It won't blow away the newest games in ultra high, like BF3 coming out, but it will likely run it and Crysis 2 in medium-high. I was going to say you won't get triple channel with 10GB, (it has to be in multiples of 3 physical sticks), but you can't with AMD anyway.|||Looking at your specs, your computer is quite powerful for gaming . But I would prefer Intel Core i7 for better performance.|||Now that you've finished bragging, go for it.

If ya still wanna upgrade, try a later NVIDIA card, but I doubt that you'll need it.

Before buying a game, check the minimum and recommended requirements printed on EVERY game box.

thnx in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…|||Depends on how much you gonna spend. For those specs the GTS 450 would be a great investment. your power supply can support this card as well.

Your CPU is also good for gaming, as long as you have a good graphic card, you'll be ok.

PSU for GTS450 graphics card?

So , i have bought a Nvidia Geforce gts 450 graphics card and my psu is not powerful enough to run the graphics card , so i was wondering if a Corsair CX600W power supply would be good enough to support the graphics card?|||That should be more than enough. Just make sure its single rail, which I believe all Corsair power supplies are.|||Yea it will be good enough. But there are other options also like ---->

Gts450 or HD5770 graphics card?

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-gts-450-us.html

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-radeon-hd-5000/hd-5770/Pages/ati-radeon-hd-5770-overview.aspx

I don't need anything too fancy, also I have quite a small case so nothing too big.|||hi john

well with a small case either of these cards may be a problem... both the HD5770 and the GTS450 are pretty big and may have problems fitting in a small case

its allways best doing some extensive research before purchasing a new graphics card... check the dimensions of the card and compare it to the case... the length is the main measurement so bare this in mind

in terms of performance the GTS450 is the better of the two... its the latest release from nvidia and has been designed to replace the popular GTS250/350 ..... and the main improvement is the GDDR5 memory... this equates to faster memory, aswell as higher memory clock speeds... and then theres the 40nm gpu(manufacturing process ) ... this is simply a smaller gpu die... and this means a cooler gpu... less power requirements and finally a quieter card.... this also means theres a lower minimum power requirement.... (500w or more )

the radeon HD5770 on the other hand has been around for 12 months now and has similar specs to the GTS450... however the HD5770 does not support physx or cuda.. allthough it does support a technology called "stream" which is ati,s attempt at cuda

but it still does not support physx so thats why i will have to recommend the GTS450.... a allround better card and is a ideal entry level card

i hope this helps, any problems let me know

good luck john !|||The Radeon 5770 is faster, but more expensive. The GTS 450 runs dead-even with the Radeon 5750 in most games. That's the card it's designed to compete against, not the 5770.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gt…

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphic…

Both cards support DX11 so it's a wash there. CUDA vs Stream... take your pick. Both cards only need a 450W power supply with a single 6-pin connector. But only the GTS 450 supports PhysX, the 5770 does not.

If you have a small case, then neither of those cards are good choices. Smaller $100ish cards like the Radeon 5670 or GeForce 9800GT are they way to go when space is tight.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

In a standard mid-tower case, either the Radeon 5770 or GTS 450 will fit. I currently have a Radeon 5770 myself.

So the 5770 gives you higher fps, the 450 provides more eye candy in games with destructible terrain.|||I think you should choose HD 5770. Because of its lower power consumption, less heat, better scaling in Xfire when it becomes needed, DX11 support so you don't have to toss it and buy a new card in 1-2 years to play games with it supported.

GTS 450 is still a bit slower than the HD 5770.|||I would suggest to buy XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5 PCIE Graphics Card

Will a Geforce GTS 450 work on a Intel 82801 Motherboard?

Right now, i have a Geforce G315, it is a great low end card, but i want to step it up to the next level haha.

So i want to know if a GTS450 will work properly on my motherboard, thanks!|||http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCIExpress.jpg

Look at the picture and then on the motherboard. Look on the second highest and see if it looks like that with 16 pin. If it have you should be able to get the Geforce GTS 450 without a problem.

The name you wrote on the motherboard is actually the name of an Intel Chip set so it's not much help.

Can i run gta 4 in max settings smoothly in gts450?

in the resource usage even if we are having 1gb of memory,it exceeds and going to 1400mb like that when we are playing it in high settings.Does this cause any problem?.Will it run smoothly?????|||it will depend upon ur processor more

GTA 4 is more processor hungry game than graphic card hungry

anyway ,with good quad core u will not have any problem playing GTA 4 with high settings

and this 1 GB memory , i hope u r not considering playing GTA 4 on 1 GB of ram , u should have atleast 1.5 GB of ram for GTA 4

if it is graphic card memory u r talking abt , then don't care abt it , nothing like wat u asked happends|||That card is a little bit too weak to handle GTA4 at max settings.

Try playing on lower settings that's suited for your system.|||no

I'm really interested by the 450 because of the free Photoshop but I'm wondering which one has better quality and won't break down on me|||>I would go with the HD 5770, but then, it sounds like you already have made up your mind, so buy what you want.|||Neither are necessarily more reliable than the other. However, the 5770 is decisively faster than the GTS 450.

Why is my geforce 9500gt video card faster than my geforce gts450 video card?

they both have 1gb of video ram ddr2 for the 9500 and ddr5 or the gts450. i tried them both in my hp media center pc with a pentium D 3.0 ghz dual core processor and 3 gb or ddr2 pc4200 ram. and a 7200rpm hard drive. and the 9500 gets 30fps in crysis while the gts450 only gets like 23fps? can anyone explain this? the gts450 has nearly twice the clock speed and memory speed than the 9500 yet it runs slower? any help would be appreciated thank you! :o)|||Is Crysis the only game this is happening in?

It's possible your computer's power supply is below the requirements for the GTS 450 so it's automatically throttling itself WAY down... do you have the 6-pin power plug connected? Did you completely uninstall the 9500GT software before installing the GTS 450? It's also possible that with the GTS 450 present, Crysis is running at higher detail or resolution, or enabling features like AA or AF.

These shouldn't even be close, your 9500GT is slightly slower than a Radeon 4650 while the GTS 450 is slightly faster than a Radeon 5750. Those cards 3 performance tiers apart. The real question is how your 9500GT was able to score so high in the first place.

http://hothardware.com/Articles/ATI-Rade…

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphic…|||the 9500 may seem faster, but only because it is runing in DX9, the GTS 450 is much faster but needs DX11. The true bottleneck in your system is your processor, which is extremely outdated, and will not help extract performance from recent video cards like the GTS 450|||Are your drivers up to date?

Also your CPU's probably holding you back. Pentium D is pretty slow nowadays, and even a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo can probably beat it.
