Is this video card worth the money?

I am looking to upgrade the video card in my computer however I do not have a lot of money. I was thinking of picking up a EVGA GTS450 video card from my local Fry's Electronics for $100 however I am not sure if this card is worth it.|||Yes that is a good card at a good price, & better than the suggested 9800GT.|||Check the specs at nvidia .com or evga .com guarantee it's worth the price|||Its a good one but GeForce 9800 GT is also a good option, I think.

NVIDIA® GeForce GTS450 for gaming?

How is this card for gaming use? On what kind of settings could it play games such as Dragon Age 2, Portal 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, etc?

Here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-gef…

And here: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDI…

Thanks!|||first the choice of graphic card depends on the processor you use if intel you go on with NVIDIA and if AMD you need to use ATI RADEON because it AMD-ATI RADEON combination gives more superior performance than AMD-NVIDIA combination

NVIDIA GeForce GTS450 is a good one to play all the games that have released yet and even you can play the battlefield 3(BF 3) in high quality

****but this graphic card will get outdated soon might be within a year or two

so my suggestion is to go on with a higher version

i would suggest you to get either ASUS NVIDIA GTX560 or GTX460 for intel processor and

RADEON HD 6870 or RADEON HD 6850 whose cost is in and around 200$

using the graphic card specified by me you can play easily in 1080 quality !!!!!!:):):):)|||if you want a good one then I recommend The Sapphire Radeon HD 5970. The Sapphire Radeon HD 5970 2GB is perhaps one of the best single video cards out at the moment. This extremely powerful video card has two GPUs on-board and a whopping 2GB of on-board memory. is perhaps one of the best single video cards out at the moment. This extremely powerful video card has two GPUs on-board and a whopping 2GB of on-board memory.

I got one too and I highly recommend it|||Its a pretty good card. Great for gaming. High or medium settings for most of the games listed.|||Not bad, i'd grab a GTX 460 though if you can afford it, or a 6850.|||I would go with nvidia. Plus it is one sick a** looking video card :P.

It would do Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on full graphics easy.

Which GPU should i buy GTS450 or GTX 550 Ti?

please dont add other GPU cause this is only available good GPU to my place and i can't order outside so here are those GPU

GTS 450 128bit/DDR5

or

GTX 550 Ti 128bit/DDR3

anyone?|||The GTX550Ti is more up market compared to the GTS450, so that's the one I'd go for, also if you go for EVGA then you should be able to get a superclocked version for alittle extra kick.|||GTX 550 Ti by a long shot, or the much better GTX 560 Ti for a few dollars more|||550 Ti for sure.

Is the hd5770 a good graphics card? I heard it crashes a lot?

I want a good gaming card, I was thinking of the GTS450 or the HD5770 and since the HD5770 is a little bit better I was heading towards that direction. Except I heard it has a driver crash problem and it wasn't very stable? Is it true?

Should I get it or should I get the GTS450 which might not crash?|||The HD 5770 is better than the GTS 450. The driver problems were during the early days (last year and the year before). I remember that my screen went grey once on the 4th day I had this card. But this problem was fixed with new driver updates.

Only downside would be using it on 1920x1080 resolution. It kinda struggles a little. I get screen tearing. A lot of people did complain about this.

Other downside is that it can only achieve up to 60fps. It can't go any higher than that. But I think this is an issue with my computer. I'm not too sure about this one.

If you still think reliability is an issue with the HD 5770 then, wait for the GTS 550 which might be faster than the HD 5770.|||I have three of these graphics card. I have two of them set up in crossfire for a gaming computer and one in an HTPC to play mostly movies.

I have never had a problem with them, even with the older drivers. They have refined the driver 10 or 11 times and I believe you are very safe getting the card.

Enjoy it.|||Own an XFX 5770. Do not game. Couple little issues with it. With the VGA the CPU Clock is about 160MHz. My room sometimes gets real cold. If the GPU temp goes down to about 34C I get a driver display error. Find it kinda of amusing that running too cool would cause this. With a DVI or HDMI the GPU Clock speed is about 400MHz. So even when the room is really cold the GPU temp will not go lower then 37C and not give me any problems. I have run the Furmark Test and have seen the GPU temp go to 96C. Not a problem. Test ran fine. They come out with new drivers about once a month. I always update, not right away and really do not know why I bother, but my computer started restarting. Opened up the dump file and come to find out it was my ATI driver. At the time I was using 10.12's. So uninstalled them and installed 10.10's and the problem went away. Do not get me wrong I like the 5770. Have been told it will run Crysis on higher settings. Hear it is a really GPU intensive game. For all I know the driver problem could have been the result of a bad download and/or install. All I can do is tell you my experiences with it. Hope this helps. Good Luck.|||The HD 5770 is a card folks like to over-clock because the 5770,s are good at it, anything that gets over-clocked is going to crash or hang when it reaches its limit, all of the 5 series cards are stable in my experience when run at or close to stock speeds, I ran my 5 series VGA for a year and never had a single crash that originated from the GPU or the AMD drivers, good luck..|||you shouldn't have issues, if the driver is crashing constantly, that could be a bad card, i have had it happen before (was an nvidia for the record). Just pick what you think is the right card performance wise, they are all fairly reliable.

What is the price of ati radeon hd 5770 in INR?

Please can anyone tell me the price of ati 5770 , 5830 , GTS450 in INR.

Please dont just convert the $ into Rs. cause there is a huge diff in them.|||Radeon HD 5770 costs around Rs.8000-10000 depends on the manufacturer and versions.some OC Models cost bit high.check this link.

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…

as for GTS 450,cost around RS.6800 minimum.

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…

I would say avoid the HD 5830.it does not worth its price.you can get better cards like GTX 460 or even better Radeon HD 6870 by slightly more cost.

currently,Radeon HD 6850 is better buy than all of this cards, costs around RS.11000 and have much better tessellation power than any HD 5xxx series cards.it can be overclocked good as well to match the performance of Radeon HD 6870.will handle all games on 1920x1080 and maximum graphical settings.its performance is equivalent to Geforce GTX 460 1 GB version from nvidia.

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…|||yes , above prices r rt

i will recommend

MSI R6850 PM2D1GD5 Graphics Card @ 10800 Rs

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…

if u r on budget , then

MSI R5770 Hawk Graphics Card @ 8200 Rs

http://www.smcinternational.in/index.php…

avoid 5830 , when u can get 6850 HD at lower price performing close to 5850

also don't compare GTS 450 with these cards , GTS 450 is equivalent to HD 5750 performancewise

if u want to compare above graphic cards performance wise then here is a chart for u

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gami…|||it costs rs.8.5k to 10k.asus voltage tweak edition and sapphire vapor-x edition r round 9.5k to 10k.others r round 8.5to 9.5k|||MSI ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB GDDR5 Graphic Card will cost Rs. 8,825/- http://bitfang.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Id…

Will my system support GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450?

I'm using Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.17 Ghz|||hi kris

as long as your motherboard has a pci-express x16 bus (slot ) and you have a 450w or better power supply ( with 26A or more on the +12v rails ) you will be able to use the GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450 in your pc

in regards to your processor the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 is still a capable processor.... and will work well with the GTS450...... however do remember you need 2gb of ram or more to get the best out of this card.... its not essential, you can actually run this card with just 1gb of ram..however games will run better with 2gb or more of ram

finally you should also ensure you pc has adequate cooling as all decent graphic cards especially nvidia based cards get pretty warm when gaming.... however a side mounted fan and a exhaust fan at the back of your pc should be enough to remove hot air from the case

however the more cooling the better.... and some cases such as the Coolermaster HAF 912 ( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… ) .. the HAF stands for high air flow and this range of cases are popular among pc enthusiasts as it has some of the best cooling set ups in the business..... this case is the entry level HAF ... however you can get bigger versions with even better cooling

so as long as you meet the requirements as mentioned above you will be able to safely run the GIGABYTE Geforce GTS450 in your system

i hope this helps kris, any questions let me know

good luck mate !|||Yep, as long as you have a power supply with a 6-pin pci-e adapter.|||yes no problem.

Is nVidia GTS450 1GB Graphics Card Good?

I would say it is the minimum for today games. Plus you could eventually upgrade and use it as a physx card.

The ati 5750 is the competitor model. Unlike other crossfire combination the 5750 like the 5770 tend to shine.|||Yeah that's pretty good.

What could happen if i plug in a 400 watt graphics card into a 350 watt supply?

my graphics card burned out that was original. i replaced it with a geforce gts450 1gb ram. it seems to be working perfectly normal. but i just want to know if it will slow down my computer or effect anything in the future.......and also is the geforce evega gts450 a good graphics card. i paid 160 in total for it.|||What's going to happen? It's not going to work, that's what's going to happen. The graphics card is rated for a higher amount of power than yours can produce.

The GTS450 is an ok card, but the newer GTX460 is much better.|||Ninja is right. You can also suffer from a "brown out", in which the computer cannot supply enough power to the other parts. Certain devices may not work properly at random. You should always have the correct amount of power suggested at a MINIMUM of what the video card requires.|||You can fry the PSU and if the PSU screws up your risking your entire system.

GeForce GTS450 or Ati Radeon 5750HD?

Another question from me.

I can't decide between those two.

I watched millions of reviews, both have almost the same performance but

5750HD has larger memory bandwih according to http://www.gpureview.com/Radeon-HD-5750-card-616.html (GTS450 stats-http://www.gpureview.com/GeForce-GTS-450-card-634.html)

and its 10$ cheaper that GTS 450 :D, but GTS450 is cooler looking.

So thats why i need your opinion.|||Well I can easily say that so far through my computer experience I most definitely prefer the GeForce chipset compared to the Radeon standards (just my subjective opinion). However we can compare the GTS 450 and Radeon 5750 more objectively than that. :)

We can take a look at these two links

450: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

5750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

First off the 5750 has 2 DVI ports, a HDMI AND a vga port, while the 450 has the 2 DVI ports and a mini-HDMI connector. VGA ports are much older than the DVI ports, but a VGA port is always nice for an older monitor, however it would rarely be used (unless you have older monitors in your house).

More importantly the 450 has an effective memory clock of 3608MHz, while the 5750 only has an effective memory clock of 1200MHz. Score 1 for the 450 having faster memory clocking speeds. Both memory types are the same at 1GB of GDDR5 with 128 bit interface so those stats are equal.

The 450 has a clock speed of about 420Mhz while the 5750 has a core clock speed of 740Mhz. Score 2 for the 450. However, the 450 only has 192 processing units while the 5750 has a whopping 720 processing units which is a definite score 1 for the 5750.

Overall score:

5750:1

450: 2

----------

450 wins!

Ok now with all this being said here is my recommendation:

If you plan on doing video editing or having only 1 graphic intense game up at a time I would buy the GTS 450 due to its faster memory (very very important in video editing, pretty important in playing a single game) and due to its faster core clock speed. If you plan on running multiple graphic intense processes at the same time, IE dual boxing video games, playing a video game while editing video (can you even really do that effectively?) then i would buy the 5750.

The advantage to the GTS 450 is that it is able to handle a single graphic intense program better than then 5750, but due to the 5750 having so many processing units, the 5750 should be able to slightly outperform the GTS 450 when multiple graphic intense applications are running in parallel.

Hope this helps a little? Good Luck!

.|||If i understood right, you recommend 450GTS for gaming,

while 5750HD is better for photoshopping and surfing the web...etc at the same time.

Is gts450 better than 5770hd and gts250?.Can it run in my zebronics 400watt smps?

can it run in msi boston 1.0 motherboard and intel core 2 duo e7200 and windows 7 ultimate and with a 17 inches lcd monitor. Is it necessary to change any other settings of my pc?.|||Zebronics 400W is a cheap generic power supply rated for 17A on a single +12V rail. Don't use it. It's not adequate for any of the video cards you mention.

(In reality, a Zebronics 400W is more like a mediocre 300 watt power supply from 7 or 8 years ago.)

The recommended power supply for a GeForce GTS 450 is 400 watts or larger with at least 22A combined available on the +12V rails.

(The 500W version Zebronics power supply is rated for 22A on the +12V, so that would technically meet the requirement for a GeForce GTS 450, but I still wouldnt use it because the brand is generic crap.)|||A Corsair CMPSU-450VX (33A +12V) is a nice power supply. Antec NEO ECO 400C and Earthwatts EA430 are both similar to the Corsair 450VX (Seasonic designs, with 30A +12V). Seasonic S12II-430 Bronze (30A +12V) is very similar to the Antec NEO ECO 400C. Those would all easily handle a GeForce GTS 450.
